The Storey’s Field Centre development project marked the commencement of an historic first partnership between Cambridge City Council and the University of Cambridge.
The building itself was designed by multiple RIBA award winning practice MUMA with an emphasis on excellent acoustic design. The Centre is a focal point and a place to gather at the heart of the Eddington community, offering opportunities for residents both old and new to meet each other and to spend time together.
Our Storey’s Field Centre’s identity is composed primarily of a simple recognisable marque that features dynamically in all communications. Referencing the elegant geometry of the building in its simplest form, the ’squared circle’ expresses the sound and acoustics at the heart of the Centre’s ideology and references a sense of community and diversity. The marque works fluidly with multiple applications across large canvases, while also scaling down to provide a bold, unfussy icon, to ultimately pull a range of communications into a consistent whole.
